RYA Keelboat Academy 17th & 18th March CANCELLED

The RYA are running a keelboat academy on the 17 & 18 March at SYC. There are still places available to SYC members. The event is a training event open to 707’s and other keelboats. (One Sonata already signed up). The weekend will focus on upwind speed. There are 13 British Keelboat Academy students attending. These guys are 18 to 25 years old and part of the RYA development program. Three very good coaches are attending this event – Andy Marshall – a National Champ, Nathan Batchelor – J24 National and European champ and Annie Lush – Ex British sailing team, raced the last Volvo ocean race with Team SCA and is currently part of Team Brunel in this years Volvo Ocean race.

The training will be free to you if you take a couple of Academy students onboard with you. The RYA’s aim is to not only provide first class training to the Academy guys but to you as well. If you can’t raise a full crew the RYA can provide crew. If you can’t make it at all, would your boat be available for the RYA to charter? This being the case the RYA will provide sails and insurance for 707’s.

Please email vicecomadore@syc.org.uk if you and your boat is available or if your boat would be available to charter?

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the country.
