Magenta Project
“Accelerating women to the top of sailing”
The club has been very fortunate to be included in this year’s RYA Magenta project. This is aimed at promoting and enabling women sailors to develop their skills on the water. It is aimed at all levels, from starter crew to experienced racing skippers. Mary Rook (http://www.maryrook.com/), professional sailor, is coming to the club on Sat the 19th of May. She will be coaching both off and on the water, for Lady club members, in areas that they wish to improve on. The plan is to have at least two boats with women crew on the water, the more the merrier. It will be a full day both on and off the water. Lunch will be available, as usual in the club and a BBQ will be available later.
I’m sure that you will agree that this is a great opportunity to improve skills and further the aims of the Magenta project and the club as a whole. Spread the word to all our women sailors that may not be on social media so we can give all our women sailors the opportunity to take part.
Please email me at vicecommodore@syc.org.uk if you are interested in this free event. Will you also indicate if you are able to provide your boat as well as yourself.
Vice.
